To bring together, on one website, the complete public domain works of Charlotte Perkins Stetson Gilman. With the high cost of literature textbooks, this website offers students and scholars an alternative source for this amazing author's astonishing output of creative prose (poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and drama) and important proto-feminist viewpoints.
A writer ahead of her time, CPG suffered greatly for her heretical viewpoints about women and their place in a patriarchal society.

Sweet Goddess, thank you for this site! Charlotte was legendary and we must teach our daughters about her ideas because right now in these troubling "masculinist" times it is imperative to learn how to be human beings again.ReplyDelete
Are you still updating this site? I came across a recently published book, "On to Victory," edited by Bettina Friedl, that includes Gilman's play "Something to Vote For." An interesting, though not great, play. And evidently her subject, the milk issue, was huge, especially among immigrant women. You might want to include it in your biblio.ReplyDelete
